A dance academy where students sign up, pay, and check in on their own
Latins Dance Company
Latins Dance Company stopped sending more than 100 payment links a month and taking roll by hand. Today its students sign up, pay, and check in on their own, and its founders got back time to teach, train, and be with their family.

// Impact in numbers
Payment links a month no longer sent by hand
People per class with no roll call
For a student to check in
It helps us enormously: it makes things easier and cuts the time we used to lose.
// The challenge
The school was growing, but administration was still manual and took away the time Karla and Elías should have spent teaching.
Latins is a salsa and bachata school for children and adults, founded in 2015, and known for the community it builds with its students. In the first three days of every month they sent between 100 and 120 payment links, each one for the right package. In every class they took roll for about 40 people and then put the report together.
It was hard to know who had paid, which package each student had, or how much would come in that month, and prospective students asked by message and sometimes stayed unsure before signing up.

// What we built
- /01
A website that enrolls, not just a storefront
All the academy's information — schedule, rules, image-use consent — and the packages with price and benefits, with online payment straight through Wompi. The form works for adults and minors; for minors it asks for guardian details, medical notes, and the required consents.
- /02
Check-in with a single tap
Students check in from their phone at the studio door, with no account or password. After the first time, their phone is recognized. They only see the classes that apply to them, never go over the hours in their package, and if their payment is pending, the system reminds them of the deadline.
- /03
The whole school in one panel
Each student's profile, payments, and attendance; who came today, by class; the schedule and packages, editable without depending on a developer; and how much is expected this month against what is already confirmed.
- /04
Billing that sorts itself out
On day 1 every active student moves to “payment to confirm”; on day 6, anyone who hasn't paid is marked overdue and gets a notice. Expiring enrollments are flagged every day, and welcome, package-change, and pending-payment emails go out on their own. If the student is a minor, they go to the parents.

Tuned with real use
We stayed with the school after launch. When we saw students forgetting their code, we simplified check-in to a single tap.

// The impact
Collecting payments and taking roll, the two tasks that took the most time, no longer depend on the staff.
Students go to the website, pick their package, and pay; they arrive at class, check in from their phone, and the report builds itself. Payments, packages, attendance, and finances live in one panel, and the website stopped being a storefront and became the direct path to enrollment: “Everything is clear and specific on the website, and that has given the school a different profile,” says Elías.
With a tight schedule and a baby at home, the time they got back shows day to day: they now have more of it to teach other classes, to prepare, and to train their daughter.
